Success of the 2021 Conference

The success of the Scientific Conference, titled “1821-2021: Greece in the Mediterranean,” organized by the Foundation for Mediterranean Studies in collaboration with partners such as the University of Piraeus, the University of the Aegean, the Ionian University, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is a testament to the collective efforts involved.

Hosted on November 25-26, 2021, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs premises in Athens, specifically at the Andrea Syngrou Mansion’s “Yiannos Kranidiotis” Amphitheatre, the conference received substantial support from sponsors including the Onassis Foundation and the Union of Shipowners of Short Sea Shipping.

In honor of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, the Conference aimed to illuminate Greece’s multifaceted role in the Mediterranean, spanning geopolitical, political, economic, environmental, and cultural dimensions.
